The indigenous movement of Rio Grande do Norte did act of repudiation against data from the Census


The indigenous movement of Rio Grande do Norte did act of repudiation against data from the Census 2010, issued by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). The natives say that the data does not reflect a reliable number of population reality of indigenous communities of Rio Grande do Norte State.
The Indians had the support of the Indigenous Motyrum, Paraupaba Group UFRN and students who together sang and danced to the sound of drums and maracas and soon an official cifre IBGE invited Tayse Fields / coordination APOINME / RN to know which of revindication indigenous. After a brief negotiation a commission was set up to talk to representatives from IBGE.
The committee was chosen: Tayse Fields (APOINME / RN Amarelão and community cifre / John Hall); Francisco Neto (community leadership Caboclos / Assu); Leoncio Manoel do Nascimento (Cacique Community Sagi, Trabanda - Baía Formosa), José Luiz Soares (Chief of Community Catu - Goianinha / Canguaretama); Lenilton Lima (photographer and supporter of the indigenous movement RN) and Jussara cifre Gallardo (anthropologist supporter of the indigenous movement RN).
At the hearing the representatives of IBGE, have committed to in the 2015 Census, the Indians would be invited to compose the municipal cifre planning commissions work in municipalities where indigenous communities exist.
