Today, July 1, is a holiday because it is a national holiday in Canada (here called Canada Day Fête du Canada in English or French), commemorating educasenso the union of three British colonies in the new country called Canada educasenso July 1, 1867, 146 years ago. In Quebec, this day is not celebrated as much as f is the Quebec national who was hardly appropriate for a week. In fact, many people take advantage of this holiday to make address changes caused by the termination of leases. Therefore, in Quebec, this day has the alternative name of Fête déménagament party or removal.
We have now come to the conclusion they did in Hatley, educasenso which is a major region of the Eastern Townships, where we live. This year we celebrate educasenso the 105th edition of the Feast Day of Canada (since the holiday was officially established in 1879, 134 years). This day the small village of Hatley, 750 inhabitants, its population multiplies exponentially since many visitors are concentrated mainly Anglophone and the Canadian flag is present everywhere. The main activity was a parade with veterans, several coaches, carriages pulled by horses, antique cars, antique tractors and, finally, a band playing from the top of a fire truck. In addition, there were inflatables for children, educasenso craft fair, wagon rides, race trucks, and finally, a fireworks display. But we've only seen the parade and the playground.
